It’s been an absolute pleasure supporting and working alongside the incredible Skate Newham this summer. Skate Newham is a volunteer led, community organisation that are pouring their free time into growing the skateboard community in Newham, through community events, skateboarding lessons (that’s where we come in) and even building new skate parks and obstacles!
During the summer holidays, we’ve helped over 40 young people and adults step on a skateboard for the first time, for FREE. All thanks to Skate Newham’s “60 Years of Motion” Project, which is funded by Newham Heritage Month this year.

Thanks to Skate Newham’s hard work, we also saw two new obstacles built in the Brampton Park skate space this summer. These obstacles were funded by Subway, supported by Skateboard GB and built by East London Skate Club. As well as funding the obstacles, Subway also sponsored a summer skate jam for the whole community, which we had the pleasure of teaching more taster sessions at!
It was a really wholesome day because a lot of people who learned to skateboard with us this summer, came along and skated in the jam and even took home some prizes! It really was an incredible end to am exciting summer program. Thank you to all involved.
Take a look at some of the pictures of the new shredders at the jam here;

A HUGE special thank you to all of the Skate Newham volunteers who helped make these sessions happen and were on hand to help, every weekend. We’re so grateful for you!!
