Camp VC 2026

WHAT A WEEKEND!

This years event marked an incredible 10 years of Camp VC – congrats to Gem and the team on that!

As always, we’re incredibly proud to be a part of the team, with this year being our 6th year running the skateboarding! That’s a flex if you ask us…

Camp VC 2026 was on another level, with over 1,000 tickets being sold and an absolutely packed schedule, we saw over 300 different people come through our skate sessions.
For perspective, in our first year there wasn’t even 300 ticket holders… thats absolute insanity!

All the coaches were so welcoming and encouraging and the whole thing was just amazing. So big props to you all and thank you!

Strap in and get ready for some words and pictures from the most wonderful, joyous and in our opinion, best event of the year… CAMP VC 2026.

First up; OUR 2026 SKATE TEAM!

Meet Shanko’s Camp VC dream team for 2026:

CATH (she/her)

First up we have Cath Shanksa.k.a. Shanko; founder and director of Shanko’s.
She’s usually here to try and coach as much as possible. However, due to recent surgery for her Epilepsy and the increase of the amount of sessions over the weekend, she had to take things a little slower physically, and reluctantly stepped back from coaching into a supervisor role to keep things running smoothly for the incredible coaching and volunteer team! Who all smashed it…

KAITLYN (she/her)

For the third year in a row, the incredible Kaitlyn Massey was back with the Shanko’s team (lucky you)
She is so incredible that although it might not come with any perks, she’s the official head Skateboard Coach this year, as we just wanted to recognise how hard she works and how incredible she is. She’s actually a bit too popular and was receiving love letters and date requests all weekend through the post lady… what an icon.

CASEY (she/her)

Speaking of post ladies, we have the incredible Casey!! This year Casey hung up her Royal Mail bag to put more time in to coaching skateboarding and has since become an integral part of all our schools work, running weekly sessions at several schools across East London on behalf of Shanko’s. It was an absolute no-brainer to bring her back for her second year as a coach at Camp VC, we always feel lucky to have her as she’s just an incredible human being.

TEDDY (they/them)

Next up, Teddy – we absolutely LOVE Teddy, and so do you all too! This was also Teddy’s second year as a skate coach at Camp VC. You can always expect the warmest and most welcoming smile when you get to the skate area when Teddy’s around. If you’re in their class you know you’re in a safe space and you can simply just learn to skate and have fun. We’re super thankful they came back for 2026!

AMBER (she/her)

YES! You see correctly, OG Camp VC 2021 and 2022 skate coach Amber made a return in 2026 as a volunteer and we are soooo here for it! She helped out with basically everything this year, she brought the vibes as well as a wealth of experience and it just felt RIGHT to have her back around! Hopefully she’ll be back for many more to come – VC fam for lyf!

SHY (they/them)

We were absolutely buzzing when Shy agreed to join this years skate team as a volunteer. They attended Camp VC for the first time last year as a paying customer, but this year we wanted to steal them for ourselves! We literally asked them within one week of last years event finishing… Shy is one of the co-founders of Other Skate Company, a community skate organisation in London, of which we LOVE. Basically we just vibe, they love skateboarding and helping out, so we wanted them on board!

CAMP VC 2026 – GROUP PHOTO’S!

At the end of every session we try to get a team photo, sometimes that’s the individual lesson group, but mostly we try to group everyone together and get a full park group photo, so if you did a class and jumped in a photo, you’ll find yourself here if you scroll through them all… there’s tonnes of you!!

Everbody say 1, 2, 3, Skateboarding!!!

We’re sorry that they’re all such basic iPhone pictures, we’re not pro photographers nor did we have a decent camera – we just wanted to capture a little something! You all look fabulous anyways.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SIGNED OUR BANNER! WE LOVE IT!

GENERAL AWESOMENESS:

Here’s some of the official skate pictures of the people who make the event what it is… you lot!

There was an insane amount of new faces this year, everyone single of you gorgeous humans brought the vibes and we really hope to see you back next year!

We’re 6 years deep into our Camp VC journey and every year it just gets bigger and better, we feel so incredibly lucky to get to share all of these moments with you, we hope you feel the same!

THANK YOU!

We’ll add more pictures and words as we find them, but so far, it’s just another overwhelming thank you to everyone who came along to one of our classes, or sessions, but also just to every single person who made the decision to attend Camp VC this year, you make it what it is, which is INCREDIBLE. The best weekend of the year, by a welsh country mile. Thank you all so much. Sending you all lots of love; Shanko and the team!

Special mentions:

SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR!

If you haven’t been to Camp VC before and are thinking about it but aren’t too sure, message us!
We’d love to have you along and will do our best to answer any questions you have!

Want to leave a message to your coach or the Shanko’s team?

We’re packed out and busy every minute of the working day at Camp VC, so we have minimal time for chitter chatter and hanging out with you outside of sessions. The coaches work extremely hard so if you have any feedback or messages you’d like to send the team, feel free to leave a message here:
